Don't use LVM myself, but see the LVM HOWTO for some info:

You'll want to review section 11.10 to shrink the systemroot, then 11.9 to increase the size of /home.
It says you can make some tweaks in multi-user mode, but I'd *strongly* recommend that all changes of this magnitude be done in single user mode with a freshly taken and known good backup!
