This can be done via the user manager gui, or by editing /etc/group. As far as the sudoers file goes, all settings for wheel are commented out by default Not sure if there are other reasons to add a user to the wheel group. Don't think there is any other use for the wheel group. Perhaps someone else who knows can respond to that issue.
