That last comment was a bit premature. Downgrading to the following build of hplip results in the top margin printing correctly again: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=252270 Of course this is just a workaround as opposed to a complete fix, but at least I can now use my HP LaserJet P2055dn printer on Fedora 16.
