that upgrading using yum should be scripted by
an expert so that us mortals do not have to slog
through this mud :)
a) My issue was not caused by a yum preupgrade. It happened by running the complete install DVD over an existing installation, ie upgrading it.
I've done many upgrades via yum. I didn't actually use yum preupgrade here because my laptop wouldn't reboot with the new yum kernel.
As far as I am concerned, yum preupgrade rocks !
