Re: nsswitch.conf changes

Hi,

I changed all my nsswitch.conf entries to point to files, previously
it was set to "files nis". However when I ssh in it still takes a long
time to authenticate. Is there a service I need to restart e.g. pam
etc? .... I'll reboot as a last resort but I thought it was an
interesting problem.
----
grep hosts /etc/nsswitch.conf
hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns

(almost certainly bound to help)

Craig

Just to state the obvious, whenever I've had this problem, it was almost always because I misspelled the first entry in my list of DNS servers in resolv.conf ;)
