I remember some earlier discussion on this but not the outcome forgive me if a clear decision was made. The current dev model for TB (similarly for firefox) is 4 versions where each version is distinguished by the leading number in the version string. As new versions are released to stable (from beta) the leading number bumps - so tracking stable requires following the stable branch which at the moment for TB is 5.0 (beta being 6.x, earlybird being 7.x and bleeding edge being 8.x) F15 still has 3.1 - is there some reason F15 should not follow the stable releases of upstream?
