Hi, I am running Fedora 13. I was given a computer and do not know what sound card is installed. What is the best way to go about finding out what it is? /etc/udev/rules.d/90-alsa-tools-firmware.rules shows these 3 entries: # TASCAM US-428 usb sound card. # TASCAM US-224 usb sound card. # TASCAM US-122 usb sound card. This show something different: cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia HDA NVidia at 0xfe024000 irq 22 There is a sticker on the side of the box advertising "NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE" graphics card but will it do sound too? This has no mention of sound capabilities: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_6_Series#GeForce_6150SE So are either of these methods of identification reliable?
