"/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/dont-zap.sh" needs chmod 755

[root@rh:~]$ cat /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/dont-zap.sh
#!/bin/sh
setxkbmap -option terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp

after that as user you can restart X as all the years before
