Form factor of the slot for your laptop, and form factor of the drive itself. Most of the initial 1tb 2.5 " drives were slightly thicker and would not fit into previous standard laptop bay. Other than that. I've a 640 gb drive in my dell d620 (only because I could not find a 1tb that had the smaller form factor size.) externally, I have used western digital, and others, up to 2gb. Multiple drives, multiple sizes (1tb, 1.5 tb, 2tb) external 3.5 drives in usb enclosures (and also internal in pc casings) without a single issue what so ever. They "just work". Both "green" and normal drives. The "green" ones will auto-spin down when not in use. Saves energy, more importantly, runs a heck of a lot cooler overall. negative is that there can be a delay as it powers up after being away from the drive for a period of time. The cooler running temp more that justifies that for me. However, your priorities might be different from mine. :-) All the best, - -Greg All the best, - -Greg > Johan S. - -- +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ Please also check the log file at "/dev/null" for additional information.
