It hardly ever gets warm to the touch, even on days when the temp is in the 90's. Where it is located, a strong ceiling fan keeps the air well circulated. This thing connects to the coax cable in the wall. The at&t uverse system is on fiber-optic cable until it gets to the curb by the development.
