My personal suggestion is to install preupgrade and let it take you to F 
13, or even F 14 now.  (It's generally safe to skip one version when 
doing this.)  Then, when F 15 comes out, do the same thing one more time 
and all should be well.  However, as somebody else reminded you, be sure 
to take a backup of (at least) /home just to be safe.
