I have a (possibly) similar Sony Bravia. I'm running 
2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10 on an ASUS P5N7A-VM with an nVidia MCP79 
(probably significant) HDMI video worked first time, although sound 
took some fiddling.  FWIW, here's what I see:

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep -i driver
(WW) AllowEmptyInput is on, devices using drivers 'kbd' or 'mouse' will 
be disabled.
