You mean to flash the firmware, right? The driver usually loads the 
firmware from
/lib/firmware/iwlwifi-xxxx.1.ucode  and
/lib/firmware/iwlwifi-xxxx.2.ucode
and the driver loads that firmware into the wifi card.

Downloading the correct firmware itself might require that you visit the 
intel web site and search for it there.
There are some old emails in various mailing lists and forums that 
downgrading to an older firmware solved their problem. but it is not 
clear for which kernel version. Probably a much older kernel.
