This is going to be a LOT of work. ;) 

Perhaps would consider looking for a distro that natively supports i586
machines? 

Building all of fedora and supporting it by yourself is not going to be
easy. I suppose if you could find enough like minded folks you could
make a i586 secondary arch team.
