I believe $LOGLEVEL was defined in /etc/sysconfig/init, but I am not
completely sure. That file still exists on F14, but LOGLEVEL is no
longer defined, as you found out.

That will work.

I still don't understand why it was removed. Hoping someone can
enlighten me.
