If I call system-config-keyboard, it correctly shows "Irish" being selected. If I press the OK button I get on stderr: "cannot open file ie". In directory /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty there are 120 keymaps. I was expecting to see a file whose name starts with "ie", but there is not. "yum provides" and "yum search" also yielded nothing.
