I had this problem too. Actually this was caused by a file
in /etc/yum.repos.d called something like
"package-manager.repo" (forgot the exact name, sorry).

This file had the flag enabled=0 but it seems it was still read by
yumex. I think it was about the USB drive I used to install fedora on
this netbook, I deleted it with no problem.
