Here it is:
steve@localhost ~$ ls -lh /dev/input/mouse0 
crw-r----- 1 root root 13, 32 Oct  9 09:56 /dev/input/mouse0
steve@localhost ~$ ls -lh /dev/input/mice 
crw-r----- 1 root root 13, 63 Oct  9 09:56 /dev/input/mice
steve@localhost ~$ 

Just to clarify for everyone following this, mouse support works perfectly for 
me in console mode Midnight Commander as root AND as a regular user.  This is on 
Fedora 13 with SELinux disabled.
