xev should give you keycodes and then in a script I do something like:

    /usr/bin/xmodmap -e 'keycode 134=degree'

    /usr/bin/xmodmap -e 'keycode 135=mu'

    /usr/bin/xmodmap -e 'keycode 66=NoSymbol'

    /usr/bin/xmodmap -e 'keycode 133=cent'
