SOLVED. JD you are awesome!

DRBL automatically puts the kernel boot parameter nomodeset by
*default* for client systems. Not good. I removed it, and it works
now. JD, you saved me a lot of work.
Thank You  :-)

I will report to DRBL project their bug.
