Yes, if it was not shared then it wouldn't work erratically, it
wouldn't work at all. The router dhcp server is setup to assign her
laptop the same IP every times, and it does.

To Tom:

Yes, she is logged in at the time so the NM connecting at boot option
should not be interfering either way.
