I have the same issue. When I try alsaunmute  (as root), I get 
Unknown hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Realtek ALC861"
"HDA:10573055,10573055,00100700 HDA:10ec0861,15840000,00100300" "0x1734"
"0x10c7"
Hardware is initialized using a guess method
