Suspend fails on Dell with 2.6.32

  Hello all,
Suspend was working well on a Dell E6400 until 2.6.32

Now the I915 driver for the 'Intel Mobile 4 series integrated graphics'
produces errors like:

Mar 9 09:39:49 hepntl141 kernel: render error detected, EIR: 0x00000000
Mar 9 09:39:56 hepntl141 kernel: [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR*
Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
Mar 9 09:39:56 hepntl141 kernel: render error detected, EIR: 0x00000000
Mar 9 09:39:56 hepntl141 kernel: [drm:i915_do_wait_request] *ERROR*
i915_do_wait_request returns -5 (awaiting 293412 at 293313)

and logs me off. Sometimes there is a message about failing to start a
second monitor, usually it just fails. There is no suspend - the laptop
sits there on, and closed.

  Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks,
          Bill
