NIS/ypbind failure on FC12

Hello,

I can't get ypbind to work on my client (bind to the server), despite
stopping iptables on the server.

There's a message in the syslog: "ypbind: NIS server for domain nmr is
not responding"

If I run ypbind -debug, it just keeps pinging the server. Yet, this
client and server are working fine as an NFS combo.

I've set-up the config files manually, or by using authconfig-tui. I've
tried using yp with static ports and opening the ports in iptables, as
well as stopping iptables altogether. 'rpcinfo -p server' shows the
services are running on the server at the designated ports.

One thing that I noticed is that there is nothing in the directory
/var/yp/binding. Is this normal for this distro?
