Unzip it and put it as you mentioned in /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins. I uninstalled the flash-plugin rpm from adobe, which is the 32 bit version. I also uninstalled nspluginwrapper. I also have java working. I think that's important. Until F12 I've always used Sun java (another pain to install). However, for the first time I have openjdk java working.
