I got libflashplayer-10.0.42.34.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz from some download
site that google will find it easily, for 64 bit fedora. Unzip it and put
it as you mentioned in /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins.

I uninstalled the flash-plugin rpm from adobe, which is the 32 bit
version. I also uninstalled nspluginwrapper.

I also have java working. I think that's important. Until F12 I've always
used Sun java (another pain to install). However, for the first time I
have openjdk java working. This is what I have:

ls -l /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/
total 9356
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 9570952 2009-12-13 17:45 libflashplayer.so
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root      41 2009-12-13 17:38 libjavaplugin.so -> /etc/
alternatives/libjavaplugin.so.x86_64
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root    5264 2009-11-03 06:58 librhythmbox-itms-
detection-plugin.so

ls -l /etc/alternatives/libjavaplugin.so.x86_64
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 64 2009-12-13 17:38 /etc/alternatives/
libjavaplugin.so.x86_64 -> /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64/lib/
amd64/IcedTeaPlugin.so
