Bill, this is on my eeepc 901 netbook, so unlike my desktop, it gets
rebooted a lot, and therefore GDM has been restarted many times.
I'd sure LIKE to find the "correct" way to do it. but after a lot of
head-banging I gave up and hacked the config file that identifies the
actual file. yes, I know, not the right solution. perhaps inspiration
will strike some day soon and I'll then go back and do it right.
