When trying to play a DVD-R,
mplayer produces audio and video,
gmplayer only produces audio, a control thingie,
and an error message where the video should be:
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out(-vo) device.
mplayer dvd://1 -dvd-device /dev/dvd1
The preceeding command plays the DVD-R,
but also gives me lots of error messages:

The preceeding command produces an error message where the video should be:

I have to kill -9 the process.
I get lots of error messages as with mplayer:
