Yes. There have been several null pointer deferences found in the kernel
since F9 stopped getting updates. If a hostile person can get arbitrary
code to run on your machine, they can get root access.

You can look at the security updates for F11 to get a pretty good idea
of vulernabilities that have been fixed since F9 stopped getting updates.
