Fedora 10 Dell Precision Kernel Panic

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello everyone,
I've been having a problem with my Dell Precision M6400 laptop and Fedora 10.
I keep getting kernel panics at random times (I've been unable to find any
activity that can possibly be the cause, such as a certain program or
anything).

It can happen sometimes 10 times in a half an hour, and other times I can go
a week without a single panic. It can happen right after logging into KDE, a
week after boot, and even seconds into the boot process.

	My current "uname -a" is:
2.6.27.35-170.2.94.fc10.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Oct 1 14:41:38 EDT 2009 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I also did a search in /var/log/messages for errors, and got the following:

[root@yaakov brianf]# grep -i error /var/log/messages

I cannot be 100% sure, but I believe that the timestamps that go with the
"NetworkManager <WARN>" messages are around the same time as the panic's I've
been having. I'm going to do some searching on that specific error, but if
anyone knows the problem or ways to track it down, I'd be greatly
appreciative.

I hope I've provided enough information (had to type this fast as last time I
had a panic mid way through), if not I'll be happy to give any info needed.

Thanks,
	Brian F.
