Gnome Keyring: Automatic Unlocking / PAM

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I would like my gnome keyring to unlock at login, exactly as described
in the article with this title at URL:
         http://live.gnome.org/GnomeKeyring/Pam

I am trying to get this to work in Fedora-11 running on an x86_64
system. The configuration (automatically generated at installation
time, and which I have not changed) appears to be just as described on
this web page, with these exceptions:

     1. Both gnome-keyring-2.26.3-1.fc11.x86_64 and
gnome-keyring-2.26.3-1.fc11.i586 are installed. I think this
was done automatically when I set the system up, and also it's
normal to have important libraries installed in both the x86_64
and i586 versions on x86_64 systems. Will the duplication cause
        trouble?
     2. The web page says that /etc/pam.d/passwd should have a line like
            password optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
in it. On my system a similar line reads
            -password optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
Should the "-" sign be removed?

Thanks in advance - jon
