Just for testing, I´ve attempted booting a Feodra 11 XFCE liveCD (respin) on a Gateway Connected Touchpad (GCTP) internet appliance which has 256MB RAM and a Transmeta Crusoe 400 Mhz CPU. For the record, it´s the i386 build. The problem I see is that on every boot, it displays "IO APIC RESOURCES could not be loaded". Not surprising since all of the (early) Transmeta Crusoe systems I´ve seen do NOT support APIC in the Bios. So the system displays that message, and STAYS IDLE, for about 40 seconds (maybe a minute) until eventually booting continues. The questions are obvious: #1) WTF is it doing while "doing nothing" and "thinking..." #2) If the system detects APIC is not supported, why can´t it resume booting INMEDIATELY, rather than "staying in the dark" for 40 secs to a minute ?? Just wondering...
