I think that more than just install/uninstall, it also runs ld to
link/unlink installed software
let it finish and you will be much happier

Are you installing this SSD into a existing OS that used a previous IDE PATA
drive, if so , it's probably thinking it still is reading IDE.
You'll probably will have to do a clean install with the SSD installed.
