yum-updatesd

Hi

I have installed yum-updatesd to notify my on email when updates are
available. It only seems to work when service sendmail is running and
it never uses the configured smtp server.
Actually I don't want sendmail to be running on all my machines.

Why does yum-updatesd not use the 'smtp_server'?
Do I need sendmail to be running?

yum-updatesd.conf
-------------
[main]
run_interval = 604800
updaterefresh = 600

emit_via = email
#dbus_listener = yes

do_update = no
do_download = no
do_download_deps = no

email_to = me@xxxxxxxxx
email_from = server@xxxxxxxxx
smtp_server = smtp.domain.dk
-------------

Best reagrds,
Martin
