I see just enough complaints about various gigabit network

Anyone using gigabit (and actually using the bandwidth
too :-) who can recommend some adapters that work well
in fedora 11?

I've got PCI as well as PCIE 1x slots available (PCI
only in some systems though).

We used the Intel Gig NICs (both copper and glass) with pretty good
results using the e1000 driver. Can't recall the model numbers, but
we've used several. The Broadcoms worked OK, too (using the both the
tg3 and bcm54 (now bmx2x) drivers.

Note this was back when I was still associated with VitalStream (before
the disastrous Internap buyout and consequent emasculation and
evisceration of the streaming side of the business).
