I'm not sure this is a bug, otherwise there would be a lot of complaining. The docs say that network manager is disabled by default. Mine is enabled. I have eth0 (internet) and eth1 (lan). 

Where do I configure eth0?
Is there no way to insure rp-pppoe, bind, dhcp are installed?

I will try another posters suggestion to make a local repo if all else fails.
