Yes, it's a known fact by now. Nobody asks you to put a cable where
you *cannot* put a cable. ;-) The remaining problem, however, is that
there must be a theory about how your tv card "produces" audio then?

Actually, since I have a setup like that which does work (not on FC11!) you might look for a three pin jumper on the TV card, which can go via cable to the CDaudio input on the sound card or motherboard. Mine has such as works.

Just pointing this out before you go too far down the "it must be wrong" road...
