name lookups suddenly no longer work for me on F11. I have not used this machine since 12th July,
but some updates (e.g. rpcbind) have occurred. Now I have big problems; e.g. evolution,
thunderbird and ssh do not work. I can force ssh to work by typing the IP by hand.
Firefox could not connect to host. But I discovered that if I set network.dns.disableIPv6
then firefox works.
So I blame IPv6, and examine my settings. There is a toggle box in system-config-network,
for IPv6, but whichever way I set it I get:
/sbin/ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0F:FE:DB:DD:57
inet addr:137.138.27.187 Bcast:137.138.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0

dig , host and nslokup all work
charles zeitler may have had a similar issue a few weeks ago?
Ideas anyone please?
