I remember that.) So, xmms has been installed when I installed Mplayer. I didn't check closely what was installed: I thought everything related to Mplayer had to be checked, and that's how I discovered SMplayer. I never thought there could be anything in MPlayer relating to XMMS, but I should have checked. Still, since XMMS is now considered legacy, I believe it shouldn't be suggested as an option when installing MPlayer. A quick search at Google tells me that rhythmbox can burn CDs. But, at the time, I probably thought it was some component of Brasero. Now I suppose that the absence of sound-juicer will cause me problems too if I want to rip CDs. I will reinstall it. But why the hell doesn't yum remove only what it's asked? It seems to me that it's really sweeping too wide. Thanks for your help.
