Just a releated "me too" but in my case the mouse (usb) is not detected at all. Unplugging and replugging it in fixes the problem. It probably doesn't get detected 50-60% of the time. It doesn't appear to just be a mouse problem though. I ran the LXDE remix on my EEEPC and the same thing happened with the touch pad. I think the last one is the correct one (the 2nd being the beyboard).
How can I improve the error message? "Logitech USB Receiver" is the name of both the keyboard and
mouse. Maybe xorg default mixes them?
How can I tweak the default xorg.conf?
To follow up I got the following from my Xorg.0.log:
