Problem with enabling desktop effects for compiz

After I yum install compiz, and upon enabling the desktop effect, I
got the following error in dmesg:

compiz[9197]: segfault at 378e22ec10 ip 000000378e22ec10 sp

Can someone help me out?

Not sure what else is needed.   Does the graphic card support 3D?   Or
the effect I choosed (like Wobbly windows, desktop cube, rotate cube)
required 3D?
