Like I said, this works properly for me under GNOME 2.24 (F10). Since you didn't include any details of your own setup, I can't comment on why it's not working for you the way that it should.

Indeed, it also works for me in F10's GNOME 2.24.  I'm the one who
started the thread with this question, and a simple "ssh-add -d"
does what I need.  I'd like to be able to set a timeout, but I can
make do with manual re-locking.
