In this way you get an implicit perfect defrag of your data, which could be more or less useful, depending on the current fragmentation of your filesystem. If your data is only 16GB, it will not take too much time and it's a method which contains a backup operation inside :-) Actually, with two disks, it could be even faster than in place resizing.
