It sounds like your system was left in an inconsistent state when the update hit disk full. I'm not sure how to recover from that. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me can help you.
It would seem to be a bug as well. Whatever was doing the update should have rolled back when it hit the disk full condition and exited gracefully. A bugzilla at http://bugzilla.redhat.com perhaps?
