Caution..... a massive net resource like all of google.com will
be dynamic and even strongly filtered.   ICMP packets to
google are not as diagnostic as less famous network hosts.
If you are having trouble connecting to google snooping the 
packets may help but active testing may be more difficult than
you expect.  Even connecting to a single ip address may result
in connections to numerous physical boxes ....
