Someone will probably tell you the easiest way though. > How can I set up DNS server in Fedora 10? Install bind. And there have been whole forests cut to furnish the paper to describe how to properly configure bind. Visit Borders & see what they have. Its a very complex subject and from my reading there is no one universally correct way to do it. But you probably need only dhcp for a home network. Only ISP's normally run a server. Here, I hard code all my local addresses in the /etc/hosts file, and what doesn't resolve there gets handed to my router, which in turn gets it from one of the two servers verizon operates. You can run 'nscd' Name Server Cacheing Daemon, which will store the results of a query to the ISP's server, making that same site resolve faster if you've been there before and not too long ago. It can save quite a bit of lookup time if your pipe is a dialup. > Processor:Intel > Pentium(R) D 2.66GHz Hard disk:80GB >Ram:1GB > >Thanks HTH -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
