F9 - X crashing

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Continuing saga of my decTOP and F9.

F9 is not recognizing my video card. The decTOP has an AMD geode X2 video processor. Centos works fine with the 'nsc' driver (name of driver for geode video in Centos).

Oh, even though F9 reports no video card (when I try a 'system-config-display --reconfig', and I get a slew of dbus errors before the report of no video), if I just tyr 'startx' with no xorg.conf, X (and gnome) start at 800x600 resolution.

So I look at how X is set up on the Compaq SFF (that has th 'ati' video driver). I copy over the xorg.conf file, replacing 'ati' with 'geode' (what appears to be the driver name in F9). I create the X symbolic link in the /etc/X11 directory, and do a 'startx'. It failed. below is the content of Xorg.0.log from right after the crash:
