Perhaps a little help on how to apply the patch will be useful too. ;)
$ cd /usr/lib/yum-plugins
$ patch -p3 -b --suffix .orig < /path/to/0001-merge-conf-allow-meld-in-addition-to-vimdiff.patch
patching file merge-conf.py
$ ls
merge-conf.py merge-conf.py.orig
If you have problems, you can easily move the original file back to
undo the change.
