It used 70% of my CPU trying to watch a film in mplayer, etc. This on a single-core 2GHz laptop. But I just found, in /etc/pulse, there was a daemon.conf from September and a daemon.conf.rpmnew. The old one had things like: nice-level -11 realtime-priority = 5 When I swapped to the rmpnew conf file things got much better.
