Why won't Konqueror run as SU ?
I have it working from a Icon on a laptop desktop, and to run as
root, and it works fine.
But on a PC , if I run it from console on a PC as SU it won't run.

kwrite and dolphin have the same problem. I just reported it in
bugzilla. Maybe you could add your experience with konqueror.

Both konq and dolphin will run with 'su -'
Neither konqueror nor dolphin will run from Konsole when I am su.
I wish they would... I've been working around this issue for 2 days now.
I did manage to get them to run from a desktop icon, but for some reason the
changes were not saved, and I can't get them running again. It looks as
though I'm back to launching them from a root konsole, which works without a
problem.

Your icon on Desktop, right click and goto Properties , than Application
tab, and down on bottom right of window, you see "Advavced Options" go
in there and check box for "run as different User" Username: root
