Hello,
I tried to clone my FC7 to another disk, this it what I did by using
fedora 9 (I also tried Fedora 10) live.
mke2fs /dev/sdc5
tune2fs -j /dev/sdc5
mount /dev/sdb5 /mnt/linux1 -o ro
mount /dev/sdc5 /mnt/linux2
cp -a /mnt/linux/* /mnt/linux2
run a gunb install
fsck /dev/sdc5
But it looks like tha grub do not like when I try to boot on /dev/sdc5,
I get an error 2: (bad file or directory type).
Most likely FC7's kernel doesn't like the ext3 file
system created.
Did the ext3 change between FC7 and FC9 ?
However, if I do not use grub, I do not have any problem to access to the
file from a FC7 even if I formatted in FC10 !
Can't you boot a FC7 disk in rescue mode and do
the cloning there?
Yes, I am going to do it again !
But then, I am going to upgrade to FC10, so, what is going to happen
with ext3 ? Does fsck update something ?
